About the Project

➤ We propose a mobile web-based application designed to assist visually impaired individuals in navigating both indoor and outdoor spaces using only their smartphones. Our solution is powered by monocular depth estimation and 3D spatial filtering, enabling real-time, intelligent understanding of the environment without the need for expensive or bulky hardware.

➤ Using state-of-the-art deep learning models, our system estimates depth from a single RGB frame captured by the smartphone’s camera. This allows us to reconstruct a 3D spatial understanding of the environment using only 2D input, eliminating the need for stereo or depth cameras.
